Leeds fans have had to be patient in the transfer window this month but after the arrival of Elia Caprile this week there could be another addition through the door soon.

Manchester City youngster Ian Poveda has been linked with a move to the club recently and though the rumours died down for a bit, the winger now looks set to sign for the club.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay has confirmed that he is set to undergo a medical ahead of a permanent move to the club, with Leeds fighting off interest from Torino to get a deal done.

Poveda is a bit of an unknown quantity given the fact he has just a single professional appearance to his name, and because of that some Leeds fans are a bit of unsure with the gamble Marcelo Bielsa is taking.

However, the Whites making their first outfield signing of the month could provide a much-needed lift to the squad and the fanbase alike, while Bielsa has already proved his knack for getting the best out of young players.

The form of Ben White this term is evidence of that, and having often been a part of Man City’s matchday squad it is likely that Poveda would have learned a lot, particularly from a manager like Pep Guardiola.

Adding an attacking threat should give the Yorkshire outfit greater dynamism and fresh impetus going forward, something they have lacked in recent games with one goal scored in the last four matches.

If the 19-year-old can breath fresh life into the side then he will likely be considered a good addition, and given his potential it is possible that he will benefit Leeds beyond this season, which could be why many supporters are happy to see him near a move to the club.
