Tottenham Hotspur fans received some absolutely brilliant news on Friday morning as the club officially announced that one of their young starlets, Troy Parrott, has signed a new contract.

The 18-year-old academy product will now stay with Spurs until at least 2023 and looks set to be an important part of their plans for the future.

Parrott has made two competitive first-team appearances to date, making his debut against Burnley in December 2019, while he already has a senior cap for the Republic of Ireland despite his age..

And needless to say, this update was a long-overdue update for many fans who were simply delighted with the announcement.

But fans don’t think it’s enough just to extend his contract – fans want Jose Mourinho to give Parrott some minutes to prove himself in the first team in order to fulfil his potential.
